Contouring & Highlighting using Concealer :).
Hello Loves :) hope everyone is having a lovely day or night I'm not sure when this is going to be posted exactly :)
So I recently bought a Pro Concealer palette from Amazon back in October
And I've been playing around with it just using it from different things and trying to make different looks and I finally think I have it down pat :). I played around with contouring & highlighting with it the same way Kim Kardashian does her makeup very natural looking but a very well noticed contour .... & I honestly have to say I think I prefer using the concealer palette to contour over powder I just love love love the finish the only thing I don't like is how long it takes because there is a lot of blending so if you are short on time this isn't time line friendly :).
I'm going to do a Pictorial and a step by step walk through for the ones that would love to learn how to achieve this look :).
If you do recreate this look or give it a twist like I have please tag me I'd love to see :) <3 either tag me at @Dollfacekaylynn or #Dollfacekaylynn on Instagram <3
What you will need?
----------------------
1. Your everyday foundation
2. For contouring you will need a concealer shade 2-3 shades darker than your skin tone
3. A highlighting shade of concealer
4. Translucent powder to set the highlight
5. Your everyday Bronzer
You don't have to go out and buy a concealer palette unless that's something you want to add to your personal collection I bought one to make it easier for when I'm working on clients :).
~So let's get Started ~
Step One: apply your daily moisturizer and foundation . If you don't want to use a foundation find the color in your concealer palette and remember what matches you for later.
I prefer to do a thin layer of foundation/ BB Cream
Step two: after you have your foundation on take the lightest shade that Flatters you which should be 2/3 shades lighter than your NORMAL skin tone on a flat foundation brush or whatever you are using to apply concealer I like to use a large shader brush to do this step . Take your brush and start at the end of your nose and draw a line all the way up to the sides of your forehead and fill in your undereye area completely . This is going to be your highlight this is where you want the light to "reflect" or show off.
Step3: continuing with highlighting you can take the same brush and make a line straight down your nose and by the V on your forehead or the space between your brows.
Step4; highlighting again you want to do your chi and cuspids bow
Step5: Now this is where I love to use my flat foundation brush because it makes it do easy to contour, follow the natural shape of your face if you aren't sure I will have a guide with pictures down below. Just think of it as you would when you contour with powder. Line your face with a shade 2/3 times DARKER than your NORMAL skin tone, (don't forget we're going to blend everything out so don't freak out lol)
Step6: Take a shade in your concealer palette or a shade you have that matches your skin tone and fill I the spots without concealer this will help everything blend together I've done it both ways with and without and it's just not as pulled together without.
Step7: Once you have everything on go ahead and start blending it all together this part takes the most time so be easy and gentle I like to use a sponge I haven't found a brush that really gives me that flawless finish I want so if you don't have a sponge you could use a stippling brush or whatever you normally use . But just make sure if you are using a sponge you don't pull the product DONT swipe your sponge do small circular motions or a patting motion .
Step8: apply a translucent powder on the light areas and use your everyday bronzer to set the contoured areas. Blend out with brush if needed and you're face is done and fabulous :). It really will look natural and effortless if you blend blend blend that's the key. This is my favorite way to get ready now seriously it's the bomb.com <3

Tips for contouring YOUR face so that it flatters YOU. Not every has the same shaped face so results vary .
Oval: generally can work with most makeup trends and needs no contouring
Round: place highlight color on the forehead, under the eyes, top of the cheeks, and center of chin. Contour from the temples, cheeks, and jawline
Square: highlight center of forehead, under the eyes, and tip of the chin. Contour on the hairline by the temples and outer corners of the jaw. Apply blush to draw attention away from the sharp corners of the face.
Heart: highlight the chin, forehead, and under the eyes to soften lower face. Contour on the temples and outer cheek area to diminish width of the upper portion of the face.
Oblong: contour or bronze the chin and hairline on the forehead to shorten the face.
